i don’t believe it!

Like me, you may have read this item in the news this week:
“The teaching of creationism should be outlawed in school  science lessons, a group of leading scientists have said.  And the curriculum should be changed to ensure evolution is taught from when children start school, according to academics including Sir David Attenborough and Professor Richard Dawkins.  Those behind the call for ‘evolution not creationism’ say teaching that God created the world is dangerous and must be prevented by law.”

This argument always makes me smile. Of course these people want evolution in primary school, this is when our kids are young and impressionable. As a Christian dad of three boys i feel happy that our family believe in the Bible and it’s teachings and therefore anything they are told at school about evolution is to be taken as a ‘theory’ [which is exactly what it is]. As they grow both physically and spiritually they will no doubt ask searching questions about why they believe what they believe. At least I hope they will – it’s what makes us stronger in our faith.
I do feel sad though that those who do not hold a firm spiritual belief will possibly only get one point of view if this goes ahead.
The likes of Dawkins and Attenborough and the other so called respected scientists however, cannot allow our children to hear the overwhelming evidence against their ‘belief’ as it is a deeply flawed one!

In case you don’t know how Darwin became the father of evolution – he travelled to Galapagos where he studied the beaks of finches. He realised that the although the birds were from the same species, they looked different [genius!]. He then wrote some notes on how “maybe species change over time to adapt to their environment.”. This idea was grabbed by the scientific community and over time became modified by them as a reasonable idea as to how we all came about!

However the evidence around us is consistent with creation, and evolution has time and time again to been found flawed/wrong/fictitious/etc, these atheists have to campaign to legislate evolution as fact! Their souls scream out to them that it really isn’t true, they know there is a God because the evidence is all around them and written on their hearts. They cover their eyes and ears with their hands and hide from what they can “clearly see”.

God’s anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known. God punishes them, because what can be known about God is plain to them, for God himself made it plain. Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all!
(Romans 1:18–20).

The thing is, the more that people protest the fact that God is real, only goes to prove even more that He is!
If there was no God – they would not need to do battle with what others believe. They would not care what people believe, because they would [supposedly] know that what they believe was true.
But… because the Bible is true and we are all accountable to the God of creation, Attenborough and Dawkins and the rest of their followers have to work as hard as they can to suppress the actual truth.
